Supetar is a small town on the Island of Brac in Croatia. "The name "Supetar" originated from the Latin SvPetar during the Latin population of the town where "Sv" stands for "Sveti", meaning Saint." (Source: Wikipedia).
One of the citations that mention St. Peter is Matthew 16:18: "And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it."
