Douglas-Fir Forest Type
This area of typical mature Douglas-fir forest has been retained in its natural state.
Trees within this stand represent a cross-section of the Pacific Coast fir type unique to the Pacific Slope of Washington and Oregon. Associated with the Douglas-fir are, Western hemlock, Western redcedar, Western white pine, Pacific silver fir, Noble fir and various species of hardwoods.
This stand of timber is estimated to contain 140,000 board feet per acre.
The Loop Trail, approximately 2000 feet, provides easy access for a closer view of this stand.
The Northwest Forest Day Use Pass or annual pass is required to park you vehicle at the trailhead.
