To help celebrate the centennial of the town's founding, Paul Keeslar of Yelm, WA was commissioned to sculpt a monument to the men who worked in the local coal mines and the sandstone quarry. The monument shows a miner and a quarryman, and is based on historic photographs. It was carved from a sandstone block at the local quarry, and transported to its present location near the City Hall. It was dedicated on July 18, 2009.
