This old church has many lovely features and is reputed to be over 700 years old, with a norman font, and 15th century glass windows.

This Church is dedicated to the Virgin Mary and once stood next to Thenford Hall, The medieval and later Elizabethan seat of the Woodhull family. The hall was demolished in 1760 and a new house built on the hill.

The church is a hotchpotch of architectural styles, with bits added on
throughout the centuries. it is reputed to be over 700 years old.
Pevsner's " Building's of England" state the exterior is most 1300c and the south door and SW windows are 1200c the north arcade is 13th century.
The simple font is norman and the stained glass window is 15C sadly only fragments remain.
In the recess is the tomb of Fulk also spelt Fulco de Woodhull
he died in 1613 and wear' s chest armour, and trunk breeches. his head lies on two pillows and his hands are in the praying position with a a dog at his feet. He was Lord of the manor in the reigns of Elizabeth 1st and James 1st.
the recess is elaborately carved with fruit and faces, with angels with wings adorning the spandrels.

the poor box is fashioned froma a single tree trunk and is considered to be 15th century,

in the past when digging graves roman artefacts have been found and are in the keeping of Northampton Museum.
