The memorial consists of an inside and an outside part. along the top of the memorial is say in both Hebrew and Portuguese "Homage to the victims against Nazism." The inside section is a large table-like structure with sand in it where you can light a candle in the sand.
The outside part has quotes in both Hebrew and Portuguese. It reads: "Fossem os meus olhos uma fonte de lagrimas sem fim, e eu choraria noite e dia, a memoria dos mortes do meu povo. (They were my eyes a source of tears without end, and I would cry night and day, the memory of the deaths of my people.)"
Inside the memorial is an urn with ashes from the Majdanek concentration camp.
The stones on the railing represent the victim of the Holocaust. According to Jewish culture, you're supposed to place a stone to remember the dead.
