Blackfeet country is located in the northwestern part of Montana that includes most of Glacier county. On the north it borders the Canadian Province of Alberta, Canada. The Blackfeet, or Pikini, belong to what is called the "Blackfoot Confederacy." This consists of the Montana Blackfeet, or Pikuni, and three other Tribes residing in Canada; the North Peigan/Pikuni, Blood/Kainai and Blackfoot/Siksika. To the west, the Blackfeet reservation shares a border with Glacier National Park, with an elevation that varies from a low of 3,400 feet in the southwest, to a high of over 9,000 feet at Chief Mountain on the northwest boundry.
Did you know? Blackfeet call themselves "Niitsitapi," meaning the real people.
