This old building is on the edge of Yelverton golf course, it was known as Tyrwhitt's stable, where the horses used to pull the wagons on the nearby tramway, were changed, fed and stabled between Yelverton and Plymouth. The Tramway existed until about 1880, it was superseded by the newer railway to the east the tramway.
Sir Thomas Tyrwhitt was the founder of Princetown, built Dartmoor Prison and the Plymouth and Dartmoor Railway.
The building is now used by the nearby golf course.
