HBRY (
visit link) owns and operates 810 miles of track mainly between The Pas and Churchill in northern Manitoba. Gilliam is one place where they have MOW equipment. Historically, the track has a poor base, going through lots of marsh and over muskeg and permafrost. It requires a lot of maintenance.
There was a derailment along the line, a few days before our trip and the 18 hour scheduled trip (335 miles) from Thompson to Churchill took 19.5 hours (plus a three hour delay before we left). Coming back a few days later, although it left many hours late, the travel time was only 18 hours.
Is this a display or a maintenance facility location?: Maintenance Facility

Visit Instructions:
The #1 requirement is, when making a visit have fun, but keep it safe by staying off railroad property, rails and equipment.
All visitors should tell about their experience. Did you enjoy your visit? What type of equipment did you see? Images add a lot to a waymark visit, so we encourage you post pictures of your visit.
If equipment is missing please contact the waymarker so it can be archived. Thank You!
