The first service for this church was April 22, 1956 and was held in a former lumber yard. The first portion of the current church building was completed and the first service held September 9, 1956. The congregation continued to grow over the years and a new sanctuary was built in 1970 and this sanctuary was renovated in 2005. In front of the church is a sculpture of Christ as a shepherd with a sheep.
