It started as a pirate station, sending from a mountain peak in Italy in 1979. When private radio stations became legal in Switzerland in 1983 it got a broadcasting license and moved to Zürich. The studios are located at Limmatstrasse in Zürich in a building with ornaments making it look a bit like a radio.
