This Peace Pole is located in front of SCFD - Station 3, near the flag pole and the Station 3 sign. In three languages the inscription reads, "United We Stand".

The Peace Pole in front of Fire Station 3 was "Presented by Girl Scout Troop 79". They are listed on the back of the pole. The other 3 sides contain, in 3 languages, English, Spanish, Somali, "United We Stand". We believe the pole was erected in response to the September 11th disaster.
On October 18th, 2002, this Peace Pole was the site of a news conference by the great progressive politician, Paul Wellstone. Senator Wellstone, his wife Sheila, daughter Marcia and 4 others would be killed a week later in a plane crash in northern Minnesota.
