(ENG) Callblanque Park, Monte de las Cenizas y Peña del Águila are located near the Mar Menor in Murcia, between the towns of Cartagena and La Unión.

Protected Natural Area since 1987 and Nature Reserve since 1992, Calblanque is an amalgamation of wonderful sand beaches, sandbanks, arid hills, cliff tops and salt flats all of great ecological value.

This Nature Reserve represents one of the last untouched areas along the Mediterranean coastline. To reach Calblanque, take the motorway from Cartagena towards La Manga, once past Los Belones, take the next singposted exit. There is a car parking area, an information booth, a camping area and a list of recommended routes.

Because of the importance of biodiversity and the presence of many endemic botanists, is protected by the laws of the Autonomous Community of Murcia as a Natural Park. Moreover, it is stated SCI (Site of Community Importance), and recently has been proposed for declaration as a Biosphere Reserve by Unesco.

(ESP) El parque de Calblanque, Monte de las Cenizas y Peña del Águila se encuentra situado en las inmediaciones del Mar Menor, en la Región de Murcia, entre los municipios de Cartagena y La Unión.

Espacio Natural protegido desde 1987 y Reserva Natural desde 1992, Calblanque es una amalgama de maravillosas playas de arena, dunas, colinas áridas, acantilados y salinas de gran valor ecológico.

Este Parque Natural es una de las últimas zonas intactas a lo largo de la costa mediterránea. Para llegar a Calblanque, tomar la autopista de Cartagena a La Manga, Los Belones, tomando la salida indicada a Callblanque. Hay una zona de aparcamiento, una caseta de información, un área para acampar y una lista de las rutas recomendadas.

Por la importancia de su diversidad biológica y la presencia de numerosos endemismos botánicos, está protegido por la legislación de la Comunidad Autónoma de Murcia como Parque Natural. Además, está declarado LIC (Lugar de Importancia Comunitaria), y recientemente, se ha propuesto su declaración como Reserva de la Biosfera por la Unesco.
