Join the estimated 180,000 people around J. Fred Johnson Stadium at the Dobyns-Bennett High School (near the given coordinates). Once the Saturday night concert is done (The Marshall Tucker Band for 2009) around 10PM, the finale fireworks are displayed overhead. Roughly 750-1000 rockets over 15-20 minutes for an intense show.
Or find high ground around the city to enjoy the same display, but with much less of the maddening traffic rush afterwards. The gallery pictures were taken from the ridge near the Goodwill Store on John B. Dennis Highway (36N 32.820, 82W 30.780) where the fireworks appears to be more eye level.
