Esta mezquita fue levantada en 1924, bajo el reinado del Abdullah I, en el lugar donde se supone que Omar, segundo profeta islámico, construyó una en el año 640. Está rodeada por la zona comercial más tradicional de Ammán, formada por pequeñas tiendas ordenadas por gremios.

English version

This mosque was built in 1924 during the reign of Abdullah I, at the place where it is assumed that Omar, the second prophet of Islam built in the year 640. It is surrounded by the most traditional shopping area of Amman, consisting of small shops arranged by guilds.
