Pioneer Lad "Little Fellow"
The friendship of an un-named pioneer boy, "Little Fellow" and his brakeman friend, "Big Bill" Chambers, dates back to 1888. "Little Fellow", who waved daily to his friend, died in 1890 in a nearby family shanty.
Due to his love for "Big Bill" and the locomotives he was buried along the Chicago and Northwestern RR Tracks 1/4 mi. East and 1 mi. North of this point. Chambers became the conductor of train No. 106, and for years stopped the train each Memorial Day to place flower and conduct a service in memory of his little friend. Annually the Clark Rotary Club continues this loving spirit tradition on Memorial Day

When the railroad tracks were being removed, a short piece was left as a continuing tribute.

A mural about the Little Fellow is in Clark SD (visit link)
