Joan Williamson was Mayor of Taupo Borough from 1986 - 1988 and Taupo District from 1988 - 2001. This Rose Garden, is located within the South Tongariro Domain adjacent to the Taupo Museum. It contains beautiful antique annual and perennial roses and is a popular place to celebrate weddings.
There is a large carpark outside the garden entrance in Story Place, off Tongariro Street. There are no gates, it is always open.
