The bridge has a hybrid steel, concrete, and wood construction. It is 80 meters long and 3 meters wide. It serves for pedestrians and bikers.
The bridge was built in 1995. It was originally designed to be only suspended from one pylon on the Lipence bank, which would resemble a mast of a sailboat. However, the cultural heritage authorities did not want the bridge to surpass the nearby church tower, and the pylon had to be reduced and a console was added on the opposite bank. The architects intentionally avoided using two pylons (one on each bank), because it would have made the bridge much more monumental.
