From the Official Tourism Site:

Byeonsan Peninsula National Park is a 35km stretch encompassing five townships along the coast. Designated as a national park in 1988, it is the only national park in the country that has both a seashore and mountainside.

The park is divided into two large sections: the shore area, called Oebyeonsan (Outer Mt. Byeonsan), and an inland area called Naebyeonsan (Inner Mt. Byeonsan). Chaeseokgang River and Byeonsan Beach are the main tourist attractions of Oebyeonsan.

Located to the west of the Byeonsan Peninsula, Chaeseokgang River includes the rock wall and the sea. The sedimentary rocks formed by the waves over a long time look like piles of hundrends of thousands of books. With its fine sand, Byeonsan Beach is one of the top three beaches on the west coast. The pine forest along the beach attracts the most visitors. There are also many attractions at Naebyeonsan such as Jiksopokpo Waterfall and Gaeamsa Temple. Mt. Naebyeonsan (495m) is especially known for its waterfalls, valleys, and lush woodlands.

In Byeonsan Peninsula National Park, there are three famous highlights, collectively referred to as "Sambyeon." The first is Byeonjae, the long and straight pine trees. The second is Byeonran, the wild orchids. The third is Byeoncheong, the natural honey produced from the slopes of Mt. Byeonsan. It is very fragrant and sometimes used for medicinal purposes.

Perhaps the most notable feature of Byeonsan Peninsula National Park is that you can enjoy the sea and the mountains both at the same time. The islands and sunset from the peak of the mountain make for a perfect backdrop. Many people come to see the sunset at Byeonsan Peninsula every year.

From the Official National Park Site:

Although Byeonsanbando National Park was designated as the 19th National Park on June 11, 1988, designated some what later than the other ones, it is appreciated as the only peninsula national park in Korea with a total area of 154.715 km2 and being a multifunctional park with an excellent harmony of mountains and sea.

The greatest characteristic of Byeonsan-bando that bears the best scenery on the west cost is holding everything to satisfy everybody.

It is true that Oe(Outer) Byeonsan along the coastal line is very beautiful but Inner Byeonsan will give you a deeper impression regarding the real aspect of the Byeonsan-bando National Park. There are peaks with curious rocks and oddly shaped stones including Uisangbong (508m), Sinseonbong (486m), and Ssangseonbong (459m) and historic ancient temples like Gaeamsa, Naesosa, and Wolmyeongam. Not only that. Places with superb scenery like Jiksopokpo falls, Bongnaegugok, and Nakjodae are scattered here and there and it is full of historic remains such as Yucheolli ancient ceramic ware remain, Guamni dolmen site, Hobeolchi, and Ugeumsanseong mountain fortress wall.

Chaeseokgang(Coastal erosion cliff and seaside), Jeokbyeokgang(Coastal erosion cliff and seaside), a Poem Monument of Shin Seokjeong, and three beaches including Gyeokpo and Gosapo are here, being counted as one of the eight greatest sites in Korea.

In addition, the sunset view is so splendid, many visitors gather to see the old year out at the last sunset time.

Another characteristic of Byeonsanbando National Park is that it is a well conditioned place for natural ecosystem with rare animals and plants. A variety of animals and plants are distributed within the park and many of them are designated as natural monuments. (e.g. Ilex Cornuta, Silver Magnolia, Holm Oak, and Abeliophyllum Distichum.)
