VR Wall mounted box.Union Mills - Isle of Man - UK - Victorian Post Boxes on Waymarking.com

This was the original VR box, wall mounted on the side of the post office.
There is a pillar box, aslo marked with a VR insignia, which is the replacement box.
This was manufactured by Andrew Handyside, Derby.

The wall box was discontinued in 1996 having been first used in 1853.

The post office is also famous for being the home of the Bee Gees for a few years before they became famous.
