Mémorial Pegasus in Ranville is new and relative small war museum which retells the full story behind the famous D-Day glider attack on Pegasus Bridge, one of the two bridges spanning the Orne River and canal. The museum was inaugurated by HRH The Prince of Wales on 4 June 2000 and lies at the Eastern end of the current bridge.
The museum is very informative and has a film show that gives an excellent overview of the events. Outside in the grounds you can visit the original Pegasus Bridge (which has been replaced across the river with a new, broader and longer modern bridge) and an exact copy of Horsa glider from the war period.
