The school colors are black and gold. The official mascot is the Boilermaker Special train, but most people are more familiar with Purdue Pete. Reserved parking is next to the stadium. General parking is on nearby althetic fields. Tailgating is permited. Private homeowners and some fraternities also provide parking. The games are not usually sold out. However, Harry's Chocolate Shop or Wabash Yatch Club are excellent viewing locations.
The band usually performs before the game at Slayter Hill and after the game at the fountain.
