Le canon de campagne BL 5.5 inch fût entra en service à l'été 1941, il s'illustra lors de la bataille de El-Alamein ou il fût utilisé par les régiments d'artillerie Anglais et de la France Libre. En opération le BL Medium Gun était tracté par le tracteur d'artillerie AEC Matador.
Le canon de Témiscaming à été placé sur la place des vétérans pour rendre hommages aux citoyens de la ville de Témiscaming disparu au cours de la seconde guerre mondiale.

The BL 5.5 inch field gun was entered into service in summer 1941, he distinguished himself in the Battle of El-Alamein where he was used by British and Free French artillery regiments. In operation the BL Medium Gun was towed by the artillery tractor AEC Matador.
Témiscaming gun was placed on the veteran's place to pay tribute to the citizens of the city of Témiscaming, who gave theirs lives during Second World War.
