This river gauge is located on the river's left bank south of the Shoals access at Pilot Mountain state park and north of the Donaha bridge access. It is best visited by small craft from the river.
By most accounts this river gauge is always "above minimum", which may be because of the rocks that have been placed to divert the flow of water towards the gauge to increase the flow at the testing area.
