This web page has the inscription and the dedication. One of the photos also has the inscription (note - on the web site, he is promoted to "Captain") (visit link) . The Lewis family erected this statue in memory of their ancestor. This family was prominent in Walpole.

The statue is very easily seen in a small park, but the park is at an intersection of secondary roads, away from the center of town and from main roads like Route 1A or Washington Street.
