The Church of St. Peter and St. Paul is one of the most valuable Romanesque ecclesiastical buildings in Moravia. It is a cultural monument of the first class. Its rise is limited by the interval years 1120-1150 and it can be connected with disappearance of the centre of Rokytné. It was in the year 1146, while Czech prince Vladislav II was away on a military expedition against sovereign prince Konrád, the leader of the opposition of Moravian branch of Premyslid royal house.

At that time, Vladislav II had gained the main seat from his attack on Prince Konrad, the fortified town of Znojmo, and the heavily devastated surrounding Znojmo region. Only on the intercession of the emperor, which was intended to humiliate Vladislav, did he and Konrád reach a truce. The prince himself was the founder of this church. He repaired the damaged buildings after the earlier devastation of Moravia and on the occasion of the transferring of the centre from demolished Rokytné to Reznovice, he ordered the construction of the Romanesque court of the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul. The existence of the court was verified by the archaeological inquiry. There is a unique written report about it from the year 1373. It was situated not far from the church building and they were fortified together.

The Church of St. Peter and St. Paul is an exceptional building. Three apses, from different sides, are joined to the central square space. On the western side, a square prismatic tower with a tribune built into the floor was connected with the central space by three semicircular apses. It was destroyed toward the end of 15th century because of the construction of the aisle changed in the second half of 16 century. The sacristy in the Baroque style was rebuilt in the year 1894 on western side of the aisle. The church exteriors & interiors were completely restored in 1946-1947 and the rotunda was returned to its original appearance. The inner plaster was removed and blank windows were found behind the altar, which had been built earlier.
