Readville MBTA Station Siding Yard - Boston, MA - Railroad Maintenance-Of-Way Equipment on Waymarking.com

The Readville MBTA Station is a complex mingling of rail routes and sidings. On the west side, where there is a platform and a parking lot off of Sprague Street-Milton Street, there is a siding where Maintenance-Of-Way equipment is temporarily stored as the tracks from the MBTA Franklin Line, the Northeast Corridor Route, and other tracks are maintained and repaired.

The siding is at level with the parking lot. You must cross these tracks and ascend the steps to the station platform about 10 feet above the tracks and parking lot. Parking is $4.00, paid in an unattended slot box.

Equipment over time varies over time. Much of the time, the track is empty. at other time, tie replacement equipment has been placed there. At others, an inspection vehicle is stored there. At other times, catenary maintenance equipment is stored there. At other times, speeders and other equipment is stored there.

Please stay off the tracks and equipment, though they be very close to the parking lot.
