The popular Giant Barrel (In Czech: Obrí sud) restaurant is located in the hill slope above Libverda Spa. In the past it mostly served guests of the spa, but today is also as a stopping point for hikers thanks to its beautiful views of the Jizera Mountains. The restaurant, built in 1931, is the only one of its kind in the Czech Republic to take the shape of a beer barrel and was inspired by a similar structure in the northern Bohemian municipality of Javorník. That restaurant however, was turned to ashes in 1974...
