This former Pub & Shop is located at the corner of Bargate and The Green in the pleasant North Yorkshire town of Richmond. The date 1689 is carved into the stone lintel above the doorway.

The doorway dated 1689 is the only known surviving example in Richmond of a type common in Swaledale. The building has had several uses over the centuries. In the 19th century it was the Three Tuns public house, During the 20th century it became a corner shop. More recently being used as a restaurant.
