One of the local attractions in Lijiang Old Town is this old still functional double water wheel. The wheel you can find between the Red Wall and the Yuhe Square where "East Street" and the Old Town starts.
In the past in the Lijiang was much more of similar water wheels, which served as pumps for advanced water transportation system built in the town, which is known also for its numerous water canals...
