This tree is famous for it is the 2nd largest of its species in the State of Georgia, as well as the 2nd largest in the United States as documented by the U. S. Forestry Department.

This tree was measured in 1976, 1989, and in 2004

The dimensions are:

Circumference 16.6 ft.
Height 52 ft. Crown Spread 70 ft.

The Cassina Garden Club has "adopted" and maintains this beautiful tree."
