The
Dakota Jazz Club opened in this downtown Minneapolis location in October of 2003 from its original site in St. Paul.
It is open for lunch Monday through Friday from 11 - 2. The dinner menu is served from 5 - 10 Monday through Thursday, 5 - 11 on Friday and Saturday, and 5 - 9 on Sunday. The bar continues to be open one hour later.
The food is excellent but may be a bit pricer than you might be expecting (or at least I was) with dinners around $20.00 each or more. This surprised me because I thought the music was the main draw when, in fact, the food is just as good as the music.
Tickets are required for performance nights, although dining-only options are available. Reservations are HIGHLY recommended for this option and can be made on-line.
