Theodore Wirth Park has three permanent orienteering courses. A 600 meter course has been set up for beginners. A 1.8 kilometer course offers more of a challenge at the intermediate level, and a 3.0 kilometer course is available for the expert.
Course changes and additional control points are added for special events.
The control points are marked by by 4" by 4" wooden posts about 3 feet high.
Theodore Wirth Park is open during daylight hours, and there may be a parking fee at peak times. A complete information packet including map and clue sheets can be purchased from the Minneapolis Orienteering Club.
