Muy cerca de la importante población de Salas de los Infantes (Burgos), a apenas quinientos metros del núcleo urbano, en un farallón rocoso junto a la carretera CL-113, encontramos primero una serie de cavidades que constituyeron un centro de recogimiento y oración para los eremitas que lo habitaron allá por el siglo X y, un poco más allá, el arco, bien visible desde la carretera. Todo el resalte rocoso está acondicionado mediante una serie de caminos de grava protegidos por barandillas que permiten recorrerlo en toda su extensión. Además disfrutaremos de una amplia vista sobre el valle del río Arlanza y la torre castillo de Castrovido.

El arco está desarrollado sobre areniscas y conglomerados de los grupos Tera y Urbión, en facies Weald, de edad Cratácico inferior.

Very close to the large population of Salas de los Infantes (Burgos, Castilla y León, Spain), just five hundred meters from the village in a rocky cliff next to the road CL-113, we find first a series of caves that were a center for meditation and prayer hermits who lived around the Xth century, and a little beyond the arch, visible from the road.
