We may notice an interesting and special building beside Széchenyi Thermal Bath. This building is the Szent István Springhouse.
Onto the continuous and suitable water supply of the Széchenyi spa the capital city embarked on the drilling of new Artesian spring in 1936.
A success crowned the work lasting until the two years, and from the well 7 thousand m³ boiling water (72 ºC) broke out daily. On the capital's general meeting, Károly Szendy prescribed the foundation of a fountain and a well-room for a mayor's proposal away because the done examinations justified the curative effect of the water.
The springhouse was opened it's doors for the public in 17. aug 1939.
