During the early 20th century Packwood house underwent some considerate renovation by the owner Graham Baron Ash. He acquired many original 16th and 17th century pieces of furniture and fabrics, many of these were purchased from the Ferres family of nearby Baddesley Clinton.
To give the house an even greater tudor feel a new long gallery was added to connect the great hall with the original house.

Charles II is said to have visited Packwood during his escape following his defeat at the battle of Worcester in 1651.

Packwood is also renowned for it's gardens which contain the famous yew tree collection. These are said to depict the 'sermon on the mount' and date from the 1650s.

The National trust were given the house in 1941.
