Situated on the main highway out of Tauranga, lies the fast growing suburb of Bethlehem. It always was a popular place for people to bring their Greeting cards to mail at Christmastime and have the envelope display the special Bethlehem postmark.
The two Welcome signs at either end of the suburb feature the Star of Bethlehem, as do many signs in the area. The given co-ordinates are for the western SH2 highway Welcome Sign.
Interestingly, further along the highway around Waihi Road, closer to the city, lies another suburb of Judea.
