Situated amongst the historic brick buildings and lace ironwork of the Rocks, almost underneath the Harbour Bridge, the Rocks Market takes places on two streets, George and Playfair rain or shine. A series of triangular tent sails shield patrons and crafters from the elements. There are also several food vendors to feed your appetite and one or two musicians performing to keep you entertained.
What a wonderful way to spend a weekend morning, wandering through the market, browsing the 150 or more stalls. With its emphasis on quality handcrafted Australian made goods, it is the perfect place for gift buying. If you're looking for the unusual or the exotic, you're guaranteed to find something to satisfy all tastes. While strolling through The Market, sample some of the wares, delicious Fudge, honey-roasted macadamia nuts or enjoy a glass of homemade lemonade.
The market is a great place to spend two or three hours and pick up some unusual craft items. For those wanting aboriginal souvenirs, there are a number of stalls with an aboriginal theme.
The Rocks Market is open every Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 5pm, a short stroll from Circular Quay.
