During the 1800's the State of Oklahoma became the home for 67 different Native Amercian tribes as they were removed from their land by the Federal Government and re-located to this area.
The tribes adopted and survived in this at-times harsh climate. Though many moved west during in the Dust Bowl years, those that remained in Oklahoma maintained the Native American influence that is still a part of this state today.
