This Vietnam POW-MIA Memorial includes a series of freedom trees, including one dedicated to Capt. Bruce Nystrom. On December 2, 1966, Capt. Bruce August Nystrom, was lost in a night reconnaissance mission over the Red River delta area in North Vietnam.

The plaque reads: The Freedom Tree, with the vision of universal freedom for all mankind this tree is dedicated to Capt. Bruce Nystrom and all prisoners of war and missing in action 1973.
