The Muck is a large wetland that is vital to the local bird population, and has an interesting array of wetland plants. Some birds include marsh wrens, sora rails, Virginia rails, American bitterns, and Wilson’s snipes. Plants include cattails, bur-reeds, swamp roses, blue vervain, swamp smartweed, and the incredibly invasive, yet beautiful. purple loosestrife. Some of the water is result of beaver dams, as well as the already existing wetlands. At the end of the boardwalk is a fantastic bird blind with a log to sign and Bird ID posters.
