Situated in New Zealands southern city of Dunedin, the Cadbury factory and Cadbury World are popular tourist spots to visit.

In 1868, a young man named Richard Hudson arrived in Dunedin, New Zealand and established his very first biscuit bakehouse. His business was a great success, and in 1884, he purchased and operated what was thought to be the first chocolate and cocoa manufacturing plant in the Southern Hemisphere.

In 1930, R Hudson and Company joined with Cadbury, and it was in this year that the first block of Cadbury chocolate made in New Zealand rolled off a Dunedin production line.

In 1991, the company became known as Cadbury Confectionery Ltd, with many of the lollies and sweets re-branded as Pascall. This great range continued to provide to happy customers their favourite sweets, such as Minties, Pineapple Lumps and Jaffas.

With their heritage continued on to this day, Cadbury products are a great hit with Kiwis everywhere! Everyone knows the block of Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate made with the goodness of "a glass and a half of full-cream Dairy Milk in every 200g block". And we all associate the colour "purple" with the Cadbury brand name.

A popular annual event in Dunedin is the Jaffa Race, rolling Jaffas down the steepest street in New Zealand. Since 1931, Cadbury Jaffas have been a part of our heritage. They’re such a favourite that Kiwis abroad phone home asking to be sent another box. And everyone has surely experienced the sound of Jaffas rolling down the sloped floor of the local Cinema, in the middle of a film show!
