The Univ. of Rochester, Rush Rhees Library Carillon, was originally installed in the tower of the library in 1930. It consisted of 17 bells, however, none of the original bells still remain. Seven of the smallest bells were relocated to Christ Church on East Avenue in the city, with the rest being cut up for scrap. In 1956, the carillon was enlarged from 17 to 19 bells, with the bells being made by Petit and Fritsen. None of the bells from that renovation still exist. It was again refurbished in 1973 with bells made by Eijsbouts. The current Carillonista is Tiffany Ng, who has weekly recitals from 12:15 to 1:00 PM.
