In the 1916 Issue of Polks Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti and Washtenaw County directory (visit link) Walter Wenk is listed as a clerk at Edsell's Rexall Drug store.

The History of Wenk's isn't available, but one might assume that the roots of Wenk's strated with Walter Wenk working as a clerk at the Rexall.

The business is currently owned by Tom Kundrat who bought Wenk's Pharmacy from Fred Wenk in February 2008.
