Located below a picnic area in an inlet right next to the dam, this small public beach is maintained with coarse sand. The depth at the back is typically 6-7 feet once the lake level reaches summer pool depth. No life guard on duty. Public restrooms are available in two nearby locations. Hours are 7AM to sunset. No animals allows down in the beach area.
I rated as 2.5 stars as can be very busy during the summer - and that you are swimming in a lake where motor boats have churned up the silt and spilled motor oil. But TVA does a good job at keeping the beach area clear of trash.
