Cogenhoe packhorse bridge was built on a medieval trade route which ran from Stamford to London. The bridge now caries the public footpath between Cogenhoe Mill & Ecton, crossing one channel of the River Nene.
Packhorse bridges were typically quite narrow. The parapets were built fairly low to avoid obstructing the loads being carried by packhorses. The bridge consists of two small arches.
