The Dry River is a river system that drained a large area east of here during the Pleistocene. Dry River Canyon is a three mile long canyon which the river cut through Horse Ridge. A well used but unmaintained trail runs the lenght of the canyon. Parking for the trail is only available at this location.
Trail allowances or restrictions: The trail and canyon are closed to entry from Feb. 1 to Aug. 31 each year by a seasonal wildlife closure to protect wildlife.
Trail type: Native surface varies and includes dirt, sand, fine gravel, and rock.
