With a winter-time visit, I can't tell what is being grown here; despite the town name of Broomfield, I doubt they still grow broom straw. Just 100 feet from the shoulder of the road, appropriately named Baseline road, set intentionally at 40 deg north latitude. This is on the east edge of the Rocky Mountain foothills.
