The 60 acre villiage of Paris, Virginia was established in 1810 and founded by Revolutionary War soldier Peter Glascock. He named the town Paris in honor of French General LaFayette. The town is very small and is nestled at Rt. 50 & Rt. 17 in Fauquier County. With it's rural setting, a few top rated Inns can be found here. It is also home of native Williard Scott, Television weatherman and Bozo the clown fame. This is also Civil War country where Col. John Mosby was present. The towns elevation is high in the foothills of the Shennandoah. A little bit of Paris can be found here in the Inns with it's fine foods and accomodations. About 85 miles from Washington Metro area
