The Samford District Historical Society has been in operation from approx 1977 collecting information and anecdotes about the Samford Valley and surrounding areas.
This museum, which has grown around the site of the old Samford Railway Station, first opened in 1986. Various buildings from the area have been relocated to the site and all have been lovingly restored to reflect the period they came from.
There is an abundant amount of information available here, including district maps dating to 1864, as well as family anecdotes, information about the traditional aboriginal tribes that once inhabited the area, logging and farming and rail activities.
There is a working blacksmith on site, which is active on the three main public holidays of the year (Australia Day, ANZAC Day and Queensland Day).
Nearby is an extensive playground for the children and all the facilities of Samford Village, including numerous cafés and eateries.
