The only sizable synagogue in the central Willamette Valley, Temple Beth Shalom was founded at this location in 1947. The temple is something of an architectural hodgepodge, but still manages to be an attractive building. From a worship standpoint the synagogue describes itself as reconstructionist, which is similar to reform, but with important differences.
